This tour gives a wonderful introduction of themany faces of India: Explore the vibrant capital cityof Delhi, including a fascinating cyclerickshawride, to discover the history and culture of thisamazing city. No visit to India is complete without visiting Agraand the immortal Taj Mahal - the quintessence of love – and, of course, the impressive Agra Fort. Journey on to Fatehpur Sikri- the deserted capitalcity, built by the most celebrated of MoghulEmperors, Akbar. Then experience the thrill ofgame drives to glimpse the elusive tiger in the Ranthambore National Park. Explore Jaipur and ride a gaily caparisonedelephant up to the magnificent Amber Fort. Finallytake a city tour and taste the delights of Surabhicuisine before returning via Delhi to London.

Day 1. To Delhi

Fly from London Heathrow to Delhi on direct non-stop Jet Airwaysflight. (Departures from regional UK airports available on request)

Day 2. New Delhi Sightseeing and Welcome Dinner

Morning arrival in Delhi. Afternoon sightseeing of Old Delhiincluding a fascinating tour by cycle rickshaw to the Jama Masjidvia the eclectic Chandni Chowk market area. Later visit the Raj Ghat,memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, before a Welcome Dinner in theevening at a local Indian restaurant. Two nights at The Lalit Hotel.

Day 3. Old Delhi sightseeingJaipur-Palace

Morning sightseeing of New Delhi with its wonderful monumentsand buildings. Visits will include the Laxmi Narayan Temple, theimpressive Humayan’s Tomb, India Gate and the Parliamentbuildings. Afternoon at leisure for personal exploration or relaxation.

Day 4. Train to Agra – Agra sightseeing

Early morning Shatabdi train to Agra. Visit the impressive Agra Fortbuilt by successive Moghul Emperors to show their wealth andpower. Spend time contemplating the meaning of love at thebeautiful Taj Mahal with and visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud – Daulah.Remainder of day at leisure. Overnight at Trident Hotel.

Day 5. To Ranthambore Tiger Reserve via Fatehpur Sikri

After an early breakfast proceed to visit Fatehpur Sikri- the amazingdeserted city of the mighty Moghul Emperor Akbar. Highlightsinclude the Tomb of Salim Chisti, the Panch Mahal and the JamaMasjid Mosque. Board the train at Bharatpur railway station toSawai Madhopur then transfer to Ranthambore National Park. Lateafternoon game drive. Two nights at Tiger Den Resort.

Day 6. Game DrivesJaipur-ellie

Morning and afternoon game drives in this Project Tiger reserve.Surrounded by the Aravali and Vindhya Hills, the park offers adiverse variety of wildlife including the awe-inspiring tiger, shyleopard and irascible wild boar.

Day 7. Game drive then to Jaipur

Final game drive before driving to Jaipur. Three nights at the Samode Haveli.

Day 8. Excursion to the Amber Fort

Delightful excursion to the magnificent Amber Fort. Travel in style,up the twisting path to the hilltop Fort in stately caparisonedelephants. Wander the vast complex through rooms festooned withdelightful murals and intricate mirror work. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 9. Jaipur City Sightseeing and Farewell Dinner

Morning city sightseeing of the ‘Pink’ city including the Birla Templeand Palace of Winds, the City Museum and the incredibleAstronomical Observatory. Afternoon atleisure, perhaps huntingfor last minute gifts or Rajasthani trinkets. Finally end the tour witha Farewell Dinner at a traditional Surabhi restaurant, tasting thefragrant and pungent spices that create a feast for all the senses.

Day 10. To London via Delhi

Fly to Delhi to connect to flight to London on Jet Airways.


Goa Extension:

Day 10. To Goa

Fly to Goa. Courtesy transfer by hotel’s coach. Four nights at Taj Holiday Village.

Day 11-13. Relax in Goa

At leisure.

Day 14. To London via Mumbai

Fly to Mumbai to connect to flight to London on Jet Airways.
