10 NIGHTS – 12 DAYS ~ FROM £1,330
This is a splendid tour staying in some of the most relaxing hotels on the island with colonial themes. In Colombo the Galle Face Hotel positively oozes colonial charm! Up in the Hill Country the delightful Banderawela Hotel is straight from the pages of history. Virtually untouched this intriguing hotel, originally an old Planters Club, still has 100-year-old four-poster beds – look out for the special entrances in the bathrooms for the servants to top the bath with hot water, so as not to disturb the Planter and his Lady! Thence travel to Yala on the shores of the Indian Ocean. Shoot Leopard – a camera is vital here – or relax by the pool. Next stay at the stylish LightHouse in Galle, with its delightful colonial air. Finally end the tour at the old Mount Lavinia Hotel, once the Governors Residence, now a gracious conclusion to a wonderful holiday.
