DAY 3 . Excursion to Sigiriya /Polonnaruwa
Early morning climb the impressive Rock Fortress of Sigiriya and gaze at the delectable frescos of the ‘Sigiriya Maidens’. Afternoon visit to Polonnaruwa to see the fascinating ruins of the 11th. C. capital of Sri Lanka.
DAY 4 . To Kandy via Dambulla
En route to Kandy visit the famous Cave Temples of Dambulla.The view across to Sigiriya is stunning. Stop off at a Spice Garden and Batik Factory to watch tracing, waxing and dyeing of the fabrics. Late afternoon arrival at the Mahaweli Reach Hotel staying for two nights.
DAY 5 . Excursion to Pinnawela
Bright start to Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, if lucky ‘feed’ one of the babies, then watch them revel as they bathe in the waters of the river. Later take a city tour of Kandy with time to browse the shops. Evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic followed by a pulsating cultural show.
DAY 6 . To Bentota
Drive to Bentota and stay four nights at the Taj Exotica.
