This journey is a wonderful mix of heritage and culture. Explore the ‘City of Palaces’– Mysore – the wildlife reserve at Kabini and the magnificent World Heritage Sites of Hassan and Hospet. Wander the beaches of Goa. The décor of the train is inspired by the intricately carved Hosalya Temple architecture. There is a mix of twin and double ensuite cabins, two dining cars, a lounge with bar, conference room and a mini gymnasium with Ayurvedic treatment rooms. The train departs every Monday from Bangalore.

Day 1. To Bangalore
Fly from Heathrow to Bangalore on direct British Airways flight.

Day 2. Board The Golden Chariot
Arrive Bangalore early in the morning. Transfer to the boutique guesthouse – Laika – for a few hours. Later transfer to the Taj West End Hotel for check–in formalities. After lunch Bangalore city sightseeing tour. Visits includes the Vidhana Soudha, Lal Bagh and St.Mark’s Cathedral. Transfer to the railway station to board the Golden Chariot.

Day 3. Mysore
Morning sightseeing by coach, of Srirangapatna, home to the ‘Tiger of Mysore’, Tipu Sultan, and the Daria Daulat Fort. After lunch visit the Chamundi Hills and Mysore Palace. Evening visit the Rangayana Kala Mandir for a Cultural show.

Day 4. Kabini
After breakfast drive to Kabini National Park for a boat ride, on the Kabini River, to view local wildlife. After lunch jungle walk followed by jeep safari.

Day 5. Hassan
Coach drive to the magnificent Temples of Halebid, and then on to Belur to see the intricately carved Hoysala Temples. Later drive to Shravanagelagola to the ancient Jain Pilgrimage centre.

Day 6. Hampi
Full day excursion, by coach. to Hampi to see the outstanding 14th c. Vijayanagar Temples. Evening delightful Sound and Light Show inside the Temple complex.

Day 7. Aihole, Pattadakal, Badami
Morning coach excursion to Aihole, acclaimed as the ‘Cradle of Hindu Architecture’. At Pattadakal see the stunning ‘chiselled’ Chalukyan Temples and finally, at Badami visit the wonderful rock – cut shrines.

Day 8. Goa
Morning to relax on the golden shores before afternoon sightseeing of Old Goa, including the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, now an Archaeological museum.

Day 9. To Bangalore
Arrive Bangalore and transfer to boutique guesthouse. Overnight at Laika.

Day 10. To Heathrow
Early morning transfer to airport for direct flight to Heathrow on British Airways.
