Explore the fascinating North-West of India tasting the lifestyle of the fabled Maharajahs. Relax in air conditioned, period carriages complete with dining cars, lounges, bar, library and twin and double en suite cabins. Day 1. To Delhi
Fly from Heathrow on direct Jet Airways flight to Delhi.

Day 2. Board Palace on Wheels
Arrive Delhi in the morning. Transfer to an hotel to use the lobby facilities. Afternoon transfer to the railway station to board Palace on Wheels. Seven nights Palace on Wheels.

Day 3. Jaipur
Morning coach excursion to the Amber Fort, climbing the steep road seated upon a regal caparisoned elephant. After lunch city tour of Jaipur includes the City Palace, the Palace ofWinds and the JantarMantar – astronomical observatory.

Day 4. Jaisalmer
Morning tour of the imposing Jaisalmer Fort. Lunch aboard the train, then visit the Samsand dunes for a short camel ride and afternoon tea. After dinner, a cultural show in Jaisalmer, then return to the train.

Day 5. Jodhpur
Morning visits to the magnificent Meherangarh Fort with its stunning architecture and the Jaswant Thada. After lunch return to the Palace on Wheels.

Day 6. Ranthambore
Morning arrival in Sawai Madhopur and drive to Ranthambore, one of India’s finest tiger reserves for a game safari. The chances here, are excellent to spot one of these magnificent animals. Other wildlife including leopards, jackal and hyenas. Later visit the sadly romantic Chittorgarh hilltop Fortress.

Day 7. Udaipur
Early morning depart for Udaipur. After lunch visit the delightful City Palace. In the evening visit the crystal gallery.

Day 8. Bharatpur and Agra
Early morning visit the world famed Bharatpur bird sanctuary. Continue to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri, the Emperor Akbar’s magnificent sand stone city. Finally visit the superb Red Fort and unforgettable Taj Mahal.

Day 9. To Heathrow
Early morning arrival in Delhi. Transfer to airport for direct flight on Jet Airways to Heathrow.
