It’s a wonderful time to meet friends and family, singing devotional songs and joining in the popular ‘garba’ or dandya-ras folk dances: danced endlessly throughout the night in the towns and villages. Competitions are now held to judge the quality of theses traditional dances.

Day 1. To Mumbai Fly from Heathrow on direct Jet Airways flight to Mumbai.
Day 2. To Ahmedabad Arrive Mumbai in the morning and connect to Ahmedabad flight. Two nights House of MG.
Day 3. Ahmedabad Full day sightseeing of Ahmedabad once known as ‘The Manchester of the East’, due to its importance as a textile town. Highlights of the visit includes the Calico Museum, Merchant Havelis, Gandhi Ashram, Hatthising Jain Temple and Jama Mosque. Traditional dinner at Vishala Village restaurant with its extraordinary Utensils museum, followed by a visit to the pulsating dance festival.
Day 4. To Dasada Morning drive to Dasada via Patan and Modhera. Patan is renowned for clay toys, superb textile work and numerous Temples. At Modhera visit the Sun Temple, where, at each equinox, the first fragile rays of the sun fall on the image of the Sun God, Surya. Night visit to a nearby village to see the traditional dance festival. Two nights at Rann Riders.
Day 5. Dasada Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in the Little Rann of Kutch, home to the Asiatic wild ass and haven for birds. Evening visit to the nearby village to see traditional festival dances.
Day 6. To Bhuj Drive to Bhuj. Two nights at the Hotel I Lark.
Day 7. Bhuj Visit the nearby Tribal villages known for their complex bead and mirror work. Also visit the Swaminarayan Sampraday Temple. After dinner visit local dance festival.
Day 8. To Mumbai Morning at leisure. Afternoon fly to Mumbai.
Day 9. To Heathrow Connect to Jet Airways flight to Heathrow.
