A cruise on the Bhramaputra River must be one of the most thrilling of river journeys imaginable, exploring the incredible countryside bound to the whim of the mighty river. Go on wildlife safaris (by jeep and on elephant back), take village walks and enjoy delightful relaxed visits to Tea Gardens: have a chance to explore the countryside seated in an eco friendly cycle rickshaw: taste the flavours of Assam and see the rich cultural heritage in dance performances and craft workshops.

Day 1. To Kolkata
Fly from Heathrow to Kolkata on direct British Airways flight.

Day 2. Kolkata
Arrive Kolkata early in the morning. Afternoon city sightseeing includes the beautiful Jain Temple, Victoria Memorial, National Museum and Mother Teresa’s Orphanage. Overnight stay at the Oberoi Grand.

Day 3. Cruise
Morning fly to Guwahati. Sightseeing tour of Guwahati which includes the Kamakhya Temple and Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery. Embark and cruise to Kurua.

Day 4. Cruise
Cruise upstream to Ganesh Pahar, to explore a delightfully serene hinterland, lying under the jungle covered slopes.

Day 5. Cruise
Stark sandbanks border the river in the Wilderness area. On a clear day there are distant views of the Himalayan range.

Day 6. Cruise
Early start to the day by country boat. Cruise to the Orang National Park for an elephant safari. Return back to the cruise ship and continue upstream to Singri Ghat.

Day 7. Cruise
Morning cruise to Tezpur and then drive to visit the 6th c. Da Parbatia Temple ruins. Explore the town by cycle rickshaw.

Day 8. Cruise
Continue upstream to Steemer Ghat then drive to Kaziranga National Park for a jeep safari to see the rich wildlife.

Day 9. Cruise
Pre-dawn drive to Kaziranga’s central range for an early morning elephant safari. After breakfast at a Lodge, walk through terraced tea gardens. Later visit a Mising Tribal village. After lunch jeep safari to the little visited eastern range before returning to the cruise ship.

Day 10. To Kolkata
Early morning drive to Guwahati. Fly to Kolkata. Overnight stay at the Oberoi Grand.

Day 11. To London
Fly to London Heathrow on British Airways direct flight.
