Fly direct from Heathrow to Amritsar on Jet Airways.

Day 2. Amritsar
Arrive Amritsar in the morning. Late afternoon drive to Wagha: the Indo – Pakistan border to witness the electrifying ‘Changing of the Guard Ceremony’ followed by visit to a local Punjabi village to see their traditional way of life. Two nights stay at the Ranjit Svaasa.

Day 3. Amritsar
Morning visit the Golden Temple and the Jallian Wala Bagh followed by a drive through the ancient city. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4. To Dharamsala
Morning drive to Dharamsala. Afternoon at leisure. Dharamsala is often called ‘Little Lhasa’, as it is the headquarters of the Tibetan Government in exile. Two nights stay at Grace Cottage.

Day 5. Dharamsala
Early morning walk to the town of McLeodganj to see the devotees engrossed in their morning prayer. After breakfast visit the Buddhist sites including the Namgyal Monastery, where the Dalai Lama has his residence and administrative offices. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6. To Pragpur
Morning drive to Pragpur. Afternoon at leisure perhaps to walk in the lovely 12 acre orchard of the hotel. Two nights stay at the Judge’s Court.

Day 7. Pragpur
Day to explore the delightful Heritage Village of Pragpur where time has stood still. There are many beautiful houses, some over 300 years old, accessible through narrow cobbled streets. Local silversmiths sell charming handcrafted trinkets.

Day 8. To Nalagarh
After breakfast drive to Nalagarh. Nalagarh Fort built in the Mughul style, lies atop a hillock at the foothills of the grand Himalayas, and has superb views over the Shivalik range. Overnight at Nalagarh Fort.

Day 9. To Shimla
Enjoy a picturesque morning drive on the winding mountain road to Shimla. Remainder of day at leisure. Three nights at the Oberoi Cecil.

Day 10. Shimla
Day at leisure. Stroll down to the Mall, visit the Gaiety Theatre, Christ Church and pickup souvenirs in the bazaars.

Day 11. Shimla
Day at leisure. Perhaps relax in the hotel or walk up to the delightful Viceregal Lodge or Jakhu Hill.

Day 12. To Delhi
Morning at leisure. Afternoon drive to Kalka railway station to board the Shatabdi express train to Delhi. Two nights stay at the Maidens.

Day 13. Delhi
Full day sightseeing of Old and New Delhi including the Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk bazaar, India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutab Minar.

Day 14. To Heathrow
Morning transfer to the airport for Jet Airways flight to Heathrow.

Dharamsala, has unique Tibetan carpets and rugs, woven with vibrant colours and patterns inspired by nature, folk lore or monuments. Silk and wool scarves, delightful wooden carvings or silver jewellery can be found in the
Tibetan Handicraft centre.
