north-india-02Travel from the cacophony of Delhi to the north of India and you will find another land. Low hills give way to the foothills of the Himalayas, and small rivers, fed by the melt waters from the snow, grow into mighty torrents, bringing life, to the people of the plains below.

Hill Stations, with echoes of the British Raj, still fill the air in Shimla and Dalhousie. Little Tibet exists around Dharamsala the headquarters of the Dalai Lama. Whilst deep in the Punjab, Amritsar beckons travellers with its beautiful Golden Temple. Higher still lies Kashmir – the jewel in the crown of India – relax on a Colonial Houseboat, ski in Gulmarg or wander the endless Alpine fields adrift with showers of gaily coloured flowers.

Rajasthan is a symphony of colour. Blue and Pink cities are awash with history and filled with vibrant communities. It’s a land of the Mughals and warrior Rajputs, dominated by magnificent Forts, peppered with intrigue and passion, and, a history of war and romance.

And then there is the Taj Mahal...
