Imagine the thrill of being up close to one of nature’s most beautiful, and, indeed, dangerous creatures – the Tiger. The tour follows the Tiger Trail through Corbett, Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Pench Tiger Reserves; each taking part in the inspirational Project Tiger project. Visit the Chambal Sanctuary to explore the last surviving habitats of the Gangetic River Dolphin.

tigerDay 1. To Delhi
Fly from Heathrow to Delhi on direct Jet Airways flight.

Day 2. Delhi
Arrive Delhi in the morning. Afternoon Delhi sightseeing includes the Jama Masjid, India Gate, Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutab Minar. Overnight stay at the Maidens.

Day 3. To Corbett National Park
Morning drive to Corbett National Park. Two nights stay at the Corbett Hideaway Resort.

Day 4. Corbett
Full day of jungle activities. Corbett was the first Park to join the Project Tiger initiative, and is home to a variety of flora and fauna. It’s particularly famous for its populations of tigers, leopards and elephants.

Day 5. On board Train to Mathura
Morning jeep safari in the Park. The Park has 50 species of mammals, 25 of reptiles and over 580 of birds. Late afternoon transfer to the railway station and board the Kumaon express in a/c sleeper car to Mathura.

Day 6. To Chambal Sanctuary
Arrive at Mathura early in the morning. Drive to Jarar. Afternoon river safari on Chambal River. Two nights stay at the Chambal Safari Lodge.

Day 7. Chambal Sanctuary
Morning nature walk. Afternoon camel safari. The National Chambal Sanctuary on the Chambal River is a refuge for the rare and endangered gharial and Ganges River dolphin. The 400 km stretch of crystal clear water is also home to marsh crocodiles, smooth coated otters and 6 species of terrapins/turtles plus over 250 species of birds.

Day 8. Overnight Train to Umaria (Bandhavgarh)
Morning at leisure before afternoon drive to Agra railway station to board overnight train in a/c sleeper to Umaria.

Day 9. Bandhavgarh National Park
Arrive Umaria early in the morning. Drive to Bandhavgarh National Park. Afternoon game drive to get an initial flavour of the Park. Two nights stay at Tiger Den Resort.

Day 10. Bandhavgarh
Morning and afternoon game drives. Bandhavgarh is considered to be the finest Park for tiger sightings. The broken hilly terrain, grassy swamps and forested valleys provide ideal concealment for this most predatory beast.

Day 11. To Kanha National Park
Morning drive to Kanha National Park: Kipling country and dedicated Tiger reserve. Kanha is another of India’s outstanding National Parks with about 30 species of mammals and 225 of birds. Afternoon game drive. Two nights stay at Wild Chalet Resort.

Day 12. Kanha
Morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 13. To Pench National Park
Early morning game safari. Late morning drive to Pench National Park. Two nights at Pench Jungle Camp.

Day 14. Pench
Morning and evening game drives. Pench lies at the foot of the Satpura range with undulating terrain – small hills, open grass meadows and dense forests. Wildlife found in the Park includes sloth bear, gaur, Nilgai, wild dog, chausingha, leopard, jackals, rhesus macaque and flying squirrels.

Day 15. To Nagpur
Final game drive of the tour. Afternoon drive to Nagpur. Overnight stay at the Hotel Pride.

Day 16. To Heathrow via Mumbai
Fly to Mumbai and connect to Jet Airways flight to Heathrow.
